Currently Reading + June 2015 Reflection

Hello Readers of All Things,

As we turn the page of our calendars, (assuming there are still those who still use them like yours, truly) there is still more time to soak in the sun. I'm not fully convinced this entire month has passed, but I do believe I have energy to do more things that I am expected of. In my reading, I have been in a slump here and there. But currently, I feel like I'm on the rise, so expect a few more of either blog posts, reviews, and more! I'm learning to invest my time in other activities, even though laying in bed all day with a good book is tempting.

And to those suffering a slump: Sometimes you need to take a break and that's great! When you feel up to reconnecting with words, at times a book may be too big of an obstacle. I've tried reading comics, graphic novels, and even fashion magazines. I believe reading short articles of writing can help ease your way to reading a full length novel again.

July will be a great month for books! I hope everyone cherishes those moments of happiness this month has to offer.

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be. [goodreads]

I'm excited to get farther into this story! I just have one of those feelings it's going to be a spectacular novel, or so I've heard. Also, this is diverse in terms with sexuality. I haven't read one in a while and this one seems magical.

  1. Hope you enjoy Ari & Dante! It's a book people have been dogging me to read for ages but I've never gotten to. I figure that given the amazing marriage equality news and all the pride celebrations lately, it might be a fitting time to read this one! Tell me how it goes!

    1. Yes! Everyone is always like "read this, read that" and it's hard to keep up! It was fitting to read this a while ago when I bought it, but now is an even better occasion. Thanks!
