My July Wrap Up

TOTAL READ IN JULY 2014: 8 books Hello guys! It's Marcey and I'm here for the month's update. This post was last minute because at 8 P.M at night I thought, "I'm going to make a July Wrap up + TBR". Like most of my decisions, they're made at night. I cannot BELIEVE that July is over!! August will be full of book buying and other shenanigans. I start school this month, so I'm not going to be too strict on my reading schedule. So I'm going to show you guys the books I have read this month.

Summary:
Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble. That it’s been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems beside the point now.

Maybe that was always beside the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn’t expect to him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts . . .



I got this for a good price on Amazon. Fairly enjoyed it.

Summary:
It begins as an assignment for English class: Write a letter to a dead person. Laurel chooses Kurt Cobain because her sister, May, loved him. And he died young, just like May did. Soon, Laurel has a notebook full of letters to people like Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Amelia Earhart, Heath Ledger, and more; though she never gives a single one of them to her teacher. 

She writes about starting high school, navigating new friendships, falling in love for the first time, learning to live with her splintering family. And, finally, about the abuse she suffered while May was supposed to be looking out for her. Only then, once Laurel has written down the truth about what happened to herself, can she truly begin to accept what happened to May. And only when Laurel has begun to see her sister as the person she was; lovely and amazing and deeply flawed; can she begin to discover her own path.

I was really surprised on this one. But loved it.

This was my second reread. Loved it more the second time around.

Summary:

My very first Sarah Dessen novel. Not my favorite, but cute.

Summary:

As Macy ventures out of her shell, she begins to wonder, Is it really better to be safe than sorry?

Summary:
Gemma just got dumped and is devastated. She finds herself back in the Hamptons for the summer—which puts her at risk of bumping into Hallie, her former best friend that she wronged five years earlier. Do people hold grudges that long? 

When a small case of mistaken identity causes everyone, including Hallie and her dreamy brother Josh, to think she’s someone else, Gemma decides to go along with it.

Gemma's plan is working (she's finding it hard to resist Josh), but she's finding herself in embarrassing situations (how could a bathing suit fall apart like that!?). Is it coincidence or is someone trying to expose her true identity? And how will Josh react if he finds out who she is?



Well... THAT'S A WRAP. I'm not going to go deep into my August TBR. As I said before, I have school starting soon. But that's not going to stop me from reading.
